This album is a companion to London’s Classic Red Buses and covers the period from 1945 until 1970, when London Country took over the Country Bus operations of London Transport. Placed in a broadly chronological sequence, the photos show the transformation of the fleet over a 25 year period and the various roles the buses performed. Here, some of the best photography of the subject is enhanced by detailed captions by two of the best authorities on these operations.
